Some possibilities: · A daytrip Lees Valley: about 200 km 4WD gravel roads through hills and along the Ashley river with breathtaking views, a swim in the Ashley River and a picnic-barbeque in the valley · A daytrip to Edoras (Lord of the Rings) near Mount Somers and a stop at the Rakaia River with the possibility to take the jet-boat up the river through the gorge and a scenic walk (1 1/2 hour)back. · A multiple daytrip to Hamner Springs (Hot water Springs) and a inland 4WD
trip to Kaikoura (watching the seals, whale-watching, swimming with Dolphins).
With optional a stay over in a tent at Lake Tenyson in the mountains, a remote
